Kitchen Renovations FAQ
Kitchen renovations involve many decisions across materials, layout and budget. The questions below cover the topics Cadavid Solutions clients most often ask before starting a project. Have a question we didn't cover? Just give us a call.
- The right countertop depends on your budget, style and how the kitchen will be used. Quartz is a popular choice because of its durability, low maintenance and wide range of finishes. We can also help clients compare different countertop options and choose one that works well with the cabinetry, backsplash and overall design of the kitchen.
- Yes. We can handle both structural and non-structural changes as part of a kitchen renovation. This can include removing walls to create an open-concept kitchen, creating larger openings, changing the layout or making room for a new island. When structural work or other parts of the renovation require permits, we coordinate the required process with the appropriate local municipality or jurisdiction for the project.
- A new backsplash can make a big difference in the overall look of a kitchen while also protecting the walls in high-use areas. We can help with tile selection, size, pattern, grout and finishes so the backsplash works well with the countertops, cabinetry and overall style of the space.
- We start by meeting with you to understand your goals, review the existing space and take the necessary measurements. From there, we develop the scope of work and prepare a detailed estimate. We help coordinate material and finish selections, layout changes and the different trades required for the renovation. If permits are required, we coordinate them with the appropriate municipality or jurisdiction. Once the scope, pricing and schedule are confirmed, we coordinate the project from construction through the final walkthrough.
- Cadavid Solutions stands behind the quality of our workmanship. Our renovation projects include workmanship warranty coverage, while applicable manufacturer warranties remain in place for materials and products installed. Warranty details are provided according to the scope of each project.
- Every kitchen is different. The timeline depends on the size of the space, the scope of work, material availability, cabinetry, structural changes, permits and the different trades involved. Once we review the project and finalize the scope, we provide a realistic project schedule so the homeowner knows what to expect before construction begins.
- Kitchen renovation costs vary depending on the size of the space and the scope of work. Cabinetry, countertops, flooring, backsplash, lighting, plumbing and electrical changes, structural work and finish selections can all affect the final investment. After reviewing the space and understanding what the homeowner wants to accomplish, we provide a clear and detailed estimate based on the actual project.
