About This Project
This 743 sq. ft. basement was transformed into a modern and functional living space designed for entertainment, relaxation and fitness. The renovation included an open-concept living area, a custom dry bar, full bathroom, dedicated home gym and a projector entertainment area.
The design combines light-tone vinyl flooring with black accent finishes, custom details and recessed lighting to create a clean, contemporary look throughout the basement.
Project Highlights
Custom Dry Bar: Black cabinetry, countertop, vertically installed black subway tile with matte black grout, integrated floating shelving and dedicated space for a beverage fridge.
Home Gym: Dedicated 182 sq. ft. gym separated from the main living and dry bar areas with a custom three-panel glass partition.
Entertainment Area: Ceiling-mounted projector positioned toward a dedicated black feature wall.
Integrated Design Detail: The bathroom door was finished in black on the entertainment-area side, allowing it to visually blend with the black feature wall when closed, while maintaining the bathroom finish on the opposite side.
Full Bathroom: Tiled shower finished with a 10 mm glass shower door.
Flooring: Light-tone vinyl plank flooring throughout the main finished areas.
Lighting: Recessed lighting incorporated throughout the basement for a clean, modern finish.
Finishing Work: Doors, frames and trim completed and painted as part of the overall renovation.
